Oktoberfest, the Surreal way
Surreal is an all-glass pavilion with an indoor tropical forest and cloud-shaped lights — not the room you expect an Oktoberfest in, which is exactly the point. This is our second year, and it runs across the pavilion and out onto the Garden Patio, so the afternoon works whatever the first Saturday of October decides to do with the weather.
Music, games and entertainment from 2:00 PM — and, because Oktoberfest just got wilder, a mechanical bull. We're in National Landing, the Arlington neighborhood many people still call Crystal City, a few minutes' walk from the Metro and straight across the Potomac from Washington, DC.
